CIPR and Latvian Government organize
public destruction of seized counterfeits.

CIPR and Government of Latvia organized the first large-scale destruction of seized counterfeits in the region on December 10. The event, which took place in the town of Silakrogs near Riga, featured the public destruction of more than 25-million fake cigarettes.

Participants in the event included, among others, Dzintars Kudums, Chair, Saeima (Parliament) Defense and Internal Affairs Commission; Mareks Seglins, Latvian Minister of Interior; Andrejs Sonciks, General Director of Latvia's State Revenue Service, U.S. Ambassador Brian Carlson; and, U.K. Ambassador Stephen Nash.
