Fake Cigarettes Worth $5 Million Destroyed in Ryazan

A large batch of counterfeit cigarettes worth about $5 million was destroyed in Ryazan. This was the largest batch of counterfeit products in Russia in the past ten years. They belonged a group of criminals caught in early 2003. An investigation ascertained that since 2001, the Shilovo municipal tobacco factory had been illicitly producing well-known trademark cigarettes intended for export abroad.
