Ryazan — Police in Russia have destroyed their largest-ever seizure of fake brand-name cigarettes earmarked for illegal sale in Western Europe. About 40-million cigarettes worth up to $5-million (R32-million) abroad were crushed with bulldozers and ploughed into the ground near Ryazan, southeast of Moscow. Germany, Britain and Italy were the main destinations, police said yesterday.
